As an avid runner, I hate to say it, but not much gets me sore these days. The second I tried Barry’s Bootcamp back in July, I was immediately hooked. When I walked out of the Red Room, I was shaking and drenched in sweat. It felt amazing.
Where is it?
They’re in a lot of places, and I hope they take over the world soon. My favorite location is in Chelsea – the facilities are spacious. As we know, “space” is a hot commodity in New York.
How much is it?
Depending on how many classes you want, it will run you a little above or below $30 per session. If you’re looking to test it out first, ClassPass is a great option.
Make sure to bring some extra dollars to spend on their apparel line. By far, my favorite gym gear to splurge on.
Do I have to have six pack abs to join this class?
Nah. This class is a challenge for me, but that’s because it incorporates much more strength into the routine. If you don’t know me, I can only do strength if someone is screaming in my face for one more rep. The routines are always different, so no class is the same. That means it’s always a challenge.
What’s the best class to try?
I think it all depends on what you want out of your class. My personal favorite class is “Chest, Back, and Abs”. Other workouts include “Butt and Legs”, “Abs”, and *gulp* “Full Body”.
What benefit have you seen?
TONE. ABS. The HIIT cardio in this class has done wonders for me, especially in the aesthetics department. I fell off the wagon at the end of the year, and I’m so ready to head back this week. Swimsuit season is right around the corner, after all.
Any other perks of being a part of Barry’s?
They have a kickass juice bar. My favorite is their peanut butter shake. It’s so good, in fact, that I learned how to make it at home.
